Terms & Conditions

The special instructions of your travel bookings are set out in the Pax Statement and in these terms and conditions. They should be read together. You are deemed to have read, understood and accepted the following policies (collectively called "the Terms and Conditions"). For purpose of clarity, Chan Brothers Travel and/or Asia Global Vacation Pte Ltd shall be referred to as "the Company" hereinafter. Please check addenda to the Terms and Conditions, if any, upon booking.

1. Reservation, Deposit and Full Payment

Reservation can be made with the Company anytime during business opening hours. To confirm the reservation, please visit our office during business opening hours with a deposit amount as specified below. This deposit forms part of the final payment.

Deposit Amount of $500 per person

For tour fares using low cost carriers, a deposit amount equivalent of airfare per person is required upon reservation.

Payment of deposit or full payment does not constitute confirmation of the tour. All group tours are subjected to a minimum group size (as determined by the Company) and confirmation of the tour will only be finalised two weeks before departure. Upon tour confirmation, full payment is required no later than 14 days prior to departure. If full payment is not received 14 days or more prior to departure, the Company reserves the right to forfeit the deposit and cancel the reservation. In such an event, the cancellation fee as stated below is payable by the Customer.

2. Cancellations by Customer - Payment and Cancellation Fee

The Customer is allowed to cancel the reservation by completing the prescribed cancellation form at any time prior to the departure date. However, cancellation fee will apply and it is computed based on the length of notice period prior to the departure. The cancellation fee is a percentage of the deposit or the total tour fare, as the case may be.

Change of departure date, change of passenger's name or change of tour is considered a cancellation from the original booking and cancellation charges will apply. Cancellation policy is based on the following schedule:

8-34 working days 50% of tour fare or deposite which ever is higher
4-7 working days 75% of tour fare or deposite which ever is higher
3 working days or less full tour fare will be forfeited

*working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays, Sundays and public holidays

3. Special Conditions – Travel Fairs/Special Promotion Bookings

Any purchase of tour packages, travel arrangements or tickets during Travel Fairs or Special Promotions is subject to the following terms:

  • Deposit amount may vary from clause 1 above and actual amount to be collected will be made known during booking.
  • No amendment of name or date of departure is allowed.
  • Upon cancellation of any booking, full deposit will be forfeited.
4. Cancellation by the Company

Please note that the Company is acting as an agent for services rendered. Even after deposit or full payment has been made, all arrangements are still subject to final confirmation. If for some unforeseeable circumstances the arrangement cannot be finalized and the reservation has to be cancelled, the Company will endeavour to notify the Customer at least 14 days before departure. At times due to low subscription for a group tour, the Company may choose to cancel the entire tour 30 days prior to departure. The Company may, if it so chooses, recommends alternative tours either to the same destination or other tours based on current tour fare. Please note that surcharges may apply on a case-to-case basis and the Customer will be advised accordingly. Should the Customer decide not to accept the alternatives, all refunds will be made accordingly by the Company and without further obligations. The Company shall also not be held liable for any contingent costs incurred by the Customer arising from the cancellation. The Customer shall receive the refund within 4 to 6 weeks upon the Company notifying the Customer of the tour cancellation.

5. Refund Policy on Unused Portion of the Tour

No refund will be made with respect to accommodation, meals, sight-seeing tours or any other services included in the tour fare but not utilized by the Customer, either in part or in full, or where the Customer amends, cancels or otherwise varies arrangements after commencement of the tour.

6. Refund Policy – Payment Mode

For cheque or cash payment, refund will be made in the form of a cheque and processed within 2-4 weeks. For credit card payment, refund will be made through the credit card company and processed within 4-6 weeks (excluding bank processing time). During peak periods, the refund process may be longer due to the increase in transactions.

7. Amendments

Amendment refers to any change to the original reservation such as change of name, flight itinerary and/or change of accommodation.

7.1 Amendment by the Customer

Upon booking, passengers are deemed to have checked all names provided are as per passports

Please fax or e-mail the photo page (or any other page showing expiry date) of your passports to us within three(3) days of booking. Contacts details overleaf. Passengers are required to check validity of passport before sending.

Subsequent changes to tickets issued made will incur amendment charges. For any promotional airfares or budget carrier strictly no amendments or refunds are allowed.

7.2 Amendment Charges

For any change made by the Customer to the existing booking, amend-ment charges will apply.Charges vary according to whether travel arrangements have already been made and confirmed (eg hotels confirmed, airline tickets issued*).

*Note: Chan Brothers Travel & /or Asia Global Vacation reserves the operational right to issue group airline tickets without prior notice to customers.

7.3 Amendment of Name (before tickets are issued)

For any change made by the Customer to the existing booking, an amendment fee of S$50 per person will apply per change. Please note that decision to allow name change is at the discretion of the airline.

7.4 Amendment of Name (after tickets issued)

Any re-issuance of air ticket, minimum administrative fee of S$50 per air ticket on top of any airline charges will apply. Any change to name of the Customer will be treated as cancellation of tour for that passenger.

7.5 Amendment Made to Tour Date or Tour Type

Any change made to the departure date or the tour type is considered a cancellation from the original tour and cancellation fee as stated under clause 2 will apply. The Company will revert to the Customer within 14 working days upon receiving written notice of the request for amendment.

7.6 Amendment to Tour Itinerary/Accommodation by the Company

The Company makes reasonable effort to avoid changes in the itinerary. However, the Company reserves the right to make minor changes at any time due to unforeseen circumstances, especially during peak periods or in the event of a force majeure.

8. Extension of Stay/Deviation from Tour Itinerary

Extension/deviation of stay may be permitted at the end of the tour, subject to maximum validity and restriction of air ticket, seat confirmation and availability of accommodation prior to commencement of the tour. Extension/deviation is subject to an extension charge and any airfare difference required.

All requests for extension will be made to respective airlines only upon confirmation of group's departure, ie, two weeks before departure; passengers are advised to provide several alternative dates of return. Should the extension dates not be confirmed, passengers are required to return with the group and the Company will have no further obligation to the passenger's extension. Non-confirmation of extension is not a valid reason for tour cancellation. Once extension is confirmed, subsequent changes to the extension date will be charged as a new extension request as per previous paragraph.

Please note that extension / deviation of stay will be at Custom-er's own expense and transfers to and from the airport will not be provided. Air ticket issued is restricted to a specified airline only and is not negotiable, endorsable, reissuable, refundable or re-routable. Any alteration of the routing or the date by the Customer is solely at the Customer's own risk. The Company and its associated agents shall not be held responsible for any inconvenience caused and extra expense incurred. No refund will be made for any unused air ticket, accommoda-tion, meals or sightseeing, in part or in full.

9. Travel Documents and Travel Insurance
9.1 Passport and Other Travel Documents

It is the Customer's sole responsibility to ensure a valid passport with minimum six months validity from date of the last departure point, as well as the necessary visas, vaccinations, health certificates and all necessary travel documents as required by the various govern-ment authorities of the country(ies) to be visited (eg exit permit, work permit, social visitor pass, onward tickets)

9.2 Visa

Different embassies / consulates require varying lengths of time to process visa applications. The Company renders assistance in visa application wherever possible but cannot, however, guarantee the approval of such visa application. This service is subject to auxiliary

charges which will be advised by the Company. If, for any reason, application for visa or exit permit is rejected, and this is made known to the Company less than 35 working days* before departure, the relevant cancellation fee as stated under clause 2 will apply.

The Company will not be responsible for any expense, reimbursement or refund of tour fare if the Customer is deported or refused entry by immigration authorities on the tour for whatever reasons, including improper travel documents, quarantine, customs regulations, possession of unlawful items or irregularities that may cause harm/damage to person or property.

9.3 Travel Insurance

Purchase of travel insurance is strongly recommended with respect to unforeseen circumstances such as trip cancellation, personal baggage loss, personal accident, injury or illness. Under no circumstances shall the Company be construed as a carrier under contract for safe carriage of the Customer or baggage/belongings. The Company will be pleased to assist in the enquiries of any travel insurance and related matters

10. Taxes and Surcharges

Airport taxes, airport security taxes, airline insurance surcharges, fuel taxes, service fees and surcharges are subject to change by the respective airlines without prior notice. Tax amount will be finalised at time of ticket issuance. Customers are required to pay the prevailing taxes/surcharges before departing on the tour.

11. Land Tour Passengers

Customers booking land tours will only be confirmed once the main group is confirmed. Land tours do not include domestic airfare and transfers. Land tour customers are required to make their own arrangements, at their own cost, to meet up with the main group.

12. Additional Notes

When booking adult triple-share room or child with bed, please note that the third bed may be a "roll-away" bed.

Child fares apply to persons between the ages of two and twelve years. A child who has attained twelve years of age is considered an adult and will pay adult fare. A child sharing the room with only one adult will pay child half twin fare.
